About CIF Power Index
CIF Power Index projects where each Southern Section baseball team will land for postseason play, based on the official power-index ranking published weekly by CIF-SS.
This is an independent tool. It is not affiliated with the CIF Southern Section, MaxPreps, or any individual school.
How divisions are projected
Per CIF-SS, the top 16 ranked teams are placed in Division 1, with subsequent divisions taking groups of 32 teams in rank order.

The actual playoff bracket is determined at the end of the regular season by averaging automatic qualifiers and at-large teams into 9 divisions. This page is a best-estimate projection from the most recent published rankings — actual placements can shift as games are played and entered into CIFSSHome.
